Cleo Hill is a married woman, in love with a man she’s never really known—her husband, whom she hasn’t seen in eleven years.

Paxton “Torch” Hill is a Notorious Devil, a man who’s been wrestling with his personal demons since before he knew the horrors of war.

When a threat against his club means danger could be lurking around his estranged wife’s door, Paxton is determined to protect her. Yet, one look at the woman he left behind, and he knows his plans are about to change.

The past is not an easy thing to forget, especially not for a woman scorned. While Cleo isn’t the innocent catch he once knew, there’s something about that rough and ready man she’s not sure she can deny.

After all—they promised each other forever.

This is book 5 in the Notorious Devils series, but my first read of any in this specific series. Overall this was a really good read, I will admit, it would have been better if I had read the others in the series, which I am going to do, but overall it did not take away from the story.

Cleo and Hill were married young, and as we find out love cannot always conquer all at first. This was a great second chance story. There were times that Hill aka Torch had me pulling out my hair, but Cleo did not disappoint and she stood her ground and made him work back into her good graces and back into her heart.

I think one of my favorite things about this book was their journey through their second chance. I loved that it wasn’t easy and that it was work and it made the ending all the more worth it. I learned to love torch as Cleo learned to love him again through everything they went through. I cannot wait to see what else happens to these Notorious Devils! 4 stars for a great read.
