Pretty Reckless, an all-new standalone high school, bully romance from USA Today bestselling author L.J. Shen, is available now!
We were supposed to be best friends
But turned out to be worst enemies…
They say revenge is a dish best served cold.
I’d had four years to stew on what Daria Followhill did to me, and now my heart is completely iced.
I took her first kiss.
She took the only thing I loved.
I was poor.
She was rich.
The good thing about circumstances? They can change. Fast.
Now, I’m her parents’ latest shiny project.
Her housemate. Her tormentor. The captain of the rival football team she hates so much.
Yeah, baby girl, say it—I’m your foster brother.
There’s a price to pay for ruining the only good thing in my life, and she’s about to shell out some serious tears.
Daria Followhill thinks she is THE queen. I’m about to prove to her that she’s nothing but a spoiled princess.
Everyone loves a good-old, unapologetic punk.
But being a bitch? Oh, you get slammed for every snarky comment, cynical eye roll, and foot you put in your adversaries’ way.
The thing about stiletto heels is that they make a hell of a dent when you walk all over the people who try to hurt you.
In Penn Scully’s case, I pierced his heart until he bled out, then left it in a trash can on a bright summer day.
Four years ago, he asked me to save all of my firsts for him.
Now he lives across the hall, and there’s nothing I want more than to be his last everything.
His parting words when he gave me his heart were that nothing in this world is free.
Now? Now he is making me pay.
5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review
I was (im)patiently waiting for this book, well, for all the new series. With the Hot Holes I was wondering how their kids would be and it’s not exactly what I thought and not in a bad wait.
I never imagined Daria’s story to be like this
But it turned out to be just perfect because when we have a HEA we think everything will be all sweet and no trouble.
Daria’s relationship with her mom is almost non-existen, Daria is not the girl to follow Melody’s step in ballet but there is a girl that can do that and that makes the distance between them wider.
Daria is daddy’s girl and she is used to get everything she wants, if nobody can give it to her, she would find a way and she doesn’t care about the consequences. Even when she is popular, she is bitter and full of insecurities.
When she was trying to ruin other one’s dreams, she meets this boy from the wrong side and there is a connection between them that even when they were young they knew it would mark them.
Now this boy is almost a man and he is trouble, the connection they have is more than desire, it’s also hate, lust and something else.
“She is tasting my sourness.
As I devour her sweetness.”
Penn didn’t know she ruined his sister’s dreams with the Skull Eyes girl but when he finds out what they did there is a hate in Penn and a desire to ruin Daria that can ruin not only their lifes.
If you were looking for a sweet and perfect story with equal main characters, this is not exactly that story. This story is full of imperfections, hate and secrets that make the story perfect.
This new generation doesn’t disappoint the readers (or their parents for that matter) they all are a new generation to create trouble in Todos Santos.
