Bed of Lies
4.5 stars

What a twisted ride this was. Just when you think you know what is going to happen Niquel smacks you off the path. I truly enjoyed this story, there aren’t many books that keep me on my toes. Boy oh boy is this DARK. I love the fact that there is a warning at the beginning and for those of you that do not do dark this IS NOT the story for you so heed that warning.

“No magic happened, nothing beautiful, just pure unwelcomed torture.”

This story gives you a glimpse into what it could be like in the sex trafficking business. Does it push the limits? No … it is the perfect combination of giving you the full story without being truly despicable in the details. Niquel keeps you drawn into the story and turning the pages wanting more.

“My cheeks burned as I realized what had just happened-he was making me his own personal sex toy.”

This was my first book by this author and I absolutely will be reading more of her work. I truly love the way her mind works even if it’s a bit twisty. Get your one click on ladies you won’t regret it. As a Boston girl I have to say.. “It’s wicked good”

I used to be naïve.
I used to think monsters didn’t exist.
I used to think I was safe, untouchable, and free from harm.
Boy was I wrong…
My name is Whitney, and I used to think my old life was mediocre and boring. I thought I was missing out on something exciting. Now that Linc has shown me how dark and twisted life can be, I’d go back in a heartbeat…

3 but you.final

Our Review:

I don’t know what to say about this book. I loved it and hated it at the same time! Say I’m Yours is more than a second ( or third, or fourth…) chance romance.
Grace has always loved Trent. She fell in love with him as a 16 year old and he has been stringing her along for almost 20 years, always faithful to her but stepping back avoiding any commitment.

“…but Trent is my soul. He’s the man I dream of every night. He’s the man I want to fall asleep next to and grow old with.”

My heart broke for Grace and I really wanted her to be able to move on and find her happiness. I often wanted to punch some sense into Trent to make him see how he was hurting her every time he pulled back.

“I need a man who’s going to give me his whole heart. I need you to love me and not just because we were separated. If we do this again, I can’t have you half in.”

This is a beautifully written story that drew me right in and got me so emotionally invested in Grace’s story that I didn’t want to put it down from chapter one till the epilogue.
4.5 Stars!! -Diane-

From New York Times Bestseller, Corinne Michaels, comes a new second chance standalone romance.

I spent twenty years waiting for Trent Hennington to open his eyes and see me. But it was all for nothing. He chose to keep himself guarded and let me walk away, proving that my time and efforts were wasted.

I’m done being invisible.
It’s time to move on.

A single dance sets my new reality into motion, and I welcome it. After all, Cooper Townsend is perfect. He’s kind, sexy, and attentive–everything a girl could want.

I thought I got it right this time.
That my heart could mend, and I would be happy.
Apparently, some things really are just too hard to walk away from.

Title: Lost in Scotland
Author: Hilaria Alexander
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: February 1, 2017

I got lost in this lovely story and feel like I’ve just returned from a scenic trip to Scotland!
After a very messy Hollywood break up and losing her job in the process, Sam is lucky to find work doing what she loves as a make up artist on location with a show filming in Scotland.

“I looked at the women singing around me. We had differences, but we all had one thing in common. A broken heart. A love story that had left us scarred. A lover who didn’t deliver on a promise. We’d all been there. Heartbreak, the universal denominator.”

Sam knows better than to get involved with one of the actors, but she was drawn to the star, Hugh MacLeod. Hugh is focused on his career. He has been working hard, taking all the roles he thinks can advance him and this one could be his big break. They both really enjoy each other’s company, but both were trying to fight their attraction and stay in the friend-zone.

“I wanted to take it slow, wanted to be a gentleman, but I’d have been lying if I’d said I didn’t want to undress her and explore every inch of her skin. She was poised most of the time, but I sensed a deep-rooted electricity buried in her that kept calling my name. I wanted to see her wild beauty come undone. I just hoped I could manage to keep an appearance of self-control around her from now on. I knew things were going to be difficult for both of us if I let myself slip.”

Hilaria Alexander’s writing has a beautiful lyric quality to it that even when she is breaking your heart, she is at the same time soothing it! I love to get lost in any book by this author!

Just when you think you’re lost, you might end up falling in love.

Sam Farouk is having a bad year. Things went down the drain ever since she found her boyfriend cheating on her at the Golden Globes. An unfortunate turn of events forces her to trade sunny Los Angeles with the rainy, chilly highlands of Scotland. She has the chance to work as one of the makeup artists on a new TV series based on a fantasy saga everyone is bananas about, but she can’t help feeling lost and a little bit homesick. Until she starts falling for Hugh MacLeod, the actor set to impersonate the titular role of Abarath, dragon slayer and part-time Casanova.
Hugh MacLeod is ready for his big break. After more than a decade taking every possible acting job just to stay afloat, he can finally show his range in a series to be proud of. Hugh’s commitment to his career comes before anything else, and that’s part of the reason why he hasn’t had a serious relationship in a while. But the more he’s around Sam, the more he knows he’s in deep, deep trouble. How is he supposed not to fall for the sexy, mysterious brunette who works all over him every single day? Every touch, every look is torture.
Getting lost in each other might be wrong, but it could end up being just what they need.

Beautiful landscape of scottish nature

“It’s so beautiful, Mom.” I pointed the camera of my phone to the scenery in front of me.
“I can see that. It’s just as stunning as you see on TV. So green.”
“It’s almost too much to take in all at once.”
Scotland was intimidating in a mysterious kind of way. California was what I had known all my life, and I’d barely even spent any time around the United States. Save a few times in London with my father and my siblings to visit my grandparents, I hadn’t been anywhere else in the world. Scotland was as foreign and new as it could get, but now, it was going to be my home for the next eight months. I switched the camera back to me.
“Have you met any of your coworkers?”
“Not yet, just one of Mira’s friends, Lainey. She picked me up at the airport and took me to my place. I have a roommate, but I haven’t met her yet. Some of the crew was out bonding last night. I missed it.”
“Oh, well. You’ll have time to get to know them. You’re lucky you got this gig at the last minute.”
“Yeah, I know.”
“Samhain, everything will be fine. You’re a talented makeup artist. You know you got this job because of your extensive resume and not just because of a phone call.”
If you say so, I wanted to tell her, but I just nodded. I hoped my mother couldn’t tell how scared I was. I knew I was overreacting—I was twenty-nine-years-old, for crying out loud. I was acting like a kid leaving for college, but this actually was my first time away from home, away from my family, my friends…my sister, my brother. I was going to miss them so much.
“Maybe I’ll come visit you,” my mother said. “I heard the male lead on this production is quite the hunk,” she joked. I saw her wink through the screen, and just like that, she brought the smile back to my face and washed away my fears. I laughed and rolled my eyes.
“What? I might be old, but I’m not dead. I can appreciate a handsome man when I see one.” She shrugged. “Who knows, maybe you’ll meet someone cute.”
“I don’t think so. My goal is to lay low for a while. Love only leads to drama.” I knew that all too well.
“Oh, honey…I’m not talking about love—”
Oh, Jesus.
“Mom, come on.”
“No, Sam, let me say what I have to say. Sweetheart, you’re still young. Have your fun while you can. You know that’s why I never liked the fact that you and Eric got so hot and heavy when you were just twenty-two. You spent your best years with a man who didn’t deserve you.”
I nodded and pressed my lips into a tight smile. She was right, of course—as was everyone else with their I-told-you-so’s. I was the fool who had loved him blindly for too long, getting nothing in return. I had gotten my revenge on the cheating bastard, but it had kind of backfired in a way I hadn’t expected. Now, for the next eight months, I would have to call Scotland my home.
I heard footsteps coming from behind me, and I turned around.
The hill I had attempted to climb was deserted. I was alone. In that moment, it dawned on me that maybe this hadn’t been the smartest decision. I shouldn’t have ventured out by myself; I was in a foreign country, and I didn’t know anyone.
But the scenery had been so inviting.
I barely detected my mother saying, “What is it, honey?” I was too focused on the noise. A moment later, a tall guy in a baseball cap and athletic gear reached the small, flat spot where I had been chatting with my mom. He was wearing a windbreaker and shorts.
Shorts! I was huddled in a knee-length puffer jacket, and just the sight of him in shorts made me shiver. He lifted his head and the sight of his ice-blue eyes made me shiver again. He looked at me for just a second, nodding his head in my direction.
“Hello,” he said in a deep, uber-manly voice, one of those that could make you swoon even saying the most boring and generic stuff. He had me at hello.
“Hi,” I replied, frozen.
His eyes shifted to the phone in my hand. My mother kept calling my name from her office in Los Angeles. The stranger stared at me for another second, and then he gave an imperceptible shake of his head. The corner of his lips curled into a smile.
Ugh. Fucking embarrassing. I had been caught FaceTiming with my mom. This would be a really good time to lose reception, but noooo. My mother kept calling out to me, but I was sort of frozen on the spot, staring at the handsome stranger.
Yes, handsome. I stared at him all of five seconds, but that was enough to see his face—and what a face it was. He had the most perfect features: straight nose, strong jaw, high cheekbones. His eyes were sharp blue and gorgeous, and with just one look, they were melting my insides.
“Samhain! Are you okay, honey? What’s wrong?”
“Mom, hang on a sec,” I said, completely distracted by the vision in front of me.
He quickly walked past me and kept climbing up the steep slope, making it look so effortless.
“What is it, honey?” my mother asked again.
“Nothing, Mom. Just some mountain climber,” I said in a lower tone, raising my eyebrows, hoping the stranger wouldn’t hear me. He kept moving just as steadily as he had a moment before. He had to be a pro—he moved way too quickly to be a regular person. I was a fan of hikes, but my expertise was limited to canyons in the valley. This California girl was no match for real mountains like the peaks of Scotland. I had been out of breath in minutes. It must have been the altitude or perhaps the fact that my body was not made for strenuous exercise, no matter how hard I tried. I might not have had a lot of time to look at the stranger, but since I got to stare at his back for a little bit, I knew the rest of his body was as good-looking as his face. He had broad shoulders and muscular, lean legs—no wonder he made it look so damn easy, effortless even. His thin shorts revealed the curve of his ass and that alone was…spectacular.
I sighed. It had been too long, what felt like forever since I’d lusted after a guy. I guess I wasn’t broken after all. Good to know. If I had more stamina and no shame, I would have followed him up the mountain. I would have committed to following that ass anywhere.
“Mom, I have to go. I need to get back to the townhouses. Maybe I can catch my roommate before my orientation.”
“All right, honey. Text me, okay?”

This sweet novella warmed my heart. Pen pals with soldiers brings me back to my childhood and some warm memories of writing with a soldier who wrote to me and included his drawings. These letters were so great that I can remember them 18 years later. It really impacts you to know there’s someone thinking of you.

I have met many of friends through books. I have never met them face to face yet these women are some of my best friends ever. So to fall in love with someone you have never met face to face is so realistic.

Reading this story was pure sweetness. It’s wonderfully written and brings you so much.IMG_0745.PNG

Broken Pieces

Oceanus and Taegan Have fallen into a forbidden love.  See Oceanus’ father is the leader of the Patchwork, a group of people or should I say paranormals.  Well each faction isn’t allowed to fraternize with each outher.  Taegan is a warewolf and Oceanus isn’t so there are not suppose to be in love and be carrying on a relationship.  But they have been carrying on in secret for years. Until…

“My stomach just collapses on itself as I croak out, “Taegan is to marry, then?””

Taegan’s father is forcing her to marry to make the bloodline stronger.  Oceanus wants to run away with her but he is loyal to his family. Loyal to a fault.

“Those words shouldn’t be true.  She was suppose to be mine.  But I ran out of time.”

Heart completely shattered but Oceanus still wasn’t allowed to focus on himself, no he had bigger worried to handle.  There’s a threat to his sister’s life.  How’s it all going to work out what will he ultimately do?

I enjoyed this book. It had lots of action and plenty of what is going to happen next moments.  Toni has created a fun paranormal world to get lost in.  Just know its a cliffy.  Toni has kept to her beautiful hot alpha mean writing giving us Oceanus is a wonderful treat.

From the moment Oceanus von Stein, second-in-command to the Patchwork family, caught sight of Taegan Conner, daughter of the leader of the Wolves, he knew he would never love another. Only now, she has been promised in marriage to another, an arrangement to strengthen her family’s alliances–and she gets no say in the matter. Can they find a way to be together, or will they both always be two Broken Pieces?

Take place during Pieces.

As I watch my father sit, he doesn’t do so smoothly. His movements are jerky before he folds his old, leathery hands together and his eyes scan the room. The scars are very prominent on his face and hands. All the experiments he did on himself are visible, along with the scar tissue that is ancient and freakish on him. While his eyes are bright, from the new pair he just obtained, he looks like death. And tired. Very tired.
Clearing his throat, he lets his gaze fall on me, and I meet it head on.
“I had a meeting with Kurt Conner.”
Kurt Conner.
The pack leader of the wolves.
My love’s father.
Clearing my throat, I sit up straighter as my forearms lay against the cool top of the old oak table. Before I can comment, though, he is going on. “He needed a loan for the wedding of Taegan.”
My world stops.
I feel all eyes on me. My father is staring at me, waiting for a response, but I don’t have one.
Because what the actual fuck is going on?
Did I hear him wrong?
“A wedding?”
“Yeah, she is marrying some other pack leader’s son—you know how those wolves are. Wanting to unite families with arranged marriage and all that wolfish nonsense, I don’t know. But I didn’t give him the money until—”
“Until?” I gasp, my heart in my throat, my stomach on the ground, and every piece of me feeling as if I am falling into the fiery depths of hell because surely I am hearing my father wrong.
Taegan is to marry me.
“He offered up some information on Frank Kelley—”
“He hasn’t died yet?” Jonas asks, and I know it’s to give me time. To let me think, to let me process, but I can’t. Taegan is to marry someone else? She didn’t even tell me. We were together last night! Had she known? Was she playing me? Damn it, what the hell? How could she allow me to find out this way? I mean, I knew my time was running out, but hell, did she keep this from me? I’ve never experienced heartache or true heartbreak, but I’m pretty sure this feeling of my chest caving in and blowing up is just that.
She’s marrying someone else?
She isn’t waiting for me?
Gasping for breath as I try to push the bile back down my throat, I watch as my father shakes his head. “Not yet. And apparently, they are wanting to attack us in one more attempt to get the formula for him. They think they can kidnap Rebekah and use her as leverage.”
I feel Rebekah move as she squeaks. “Me?”
“You. So we are on high alert. Keep your eyes open, and, Rebekah, I don’t want you working at the bar until this is taken care of. I have a meeting with Frank Kelley on Friday.”
“Father, I’m fine at the bar. It’s owned by our family, most of our family is there, along with JJ. The Kelleys don’t even come that much.”
“Yes, but other families come to the bar, and that makes me uncomfortable.”
“I’m fine, I can take care of myself.”
He leans on his desk, and I don’t care about their melodrama. I can’t. Even though I know I should intervene, calm both sides—because my father is right, we need to keep Rebekah underground while this goes on—I can’t help but think of the fact that my love is marrying another. Someone other than me. How in the world is this fair? Why didn’t she fight them? She told me she was mine, and I was hers. Why didn’t she wait for me?
And then it’s like I’m being slapped back into reality.
She didn’t wait for me because we can’t.
We can’t be selfish and love each other because we have commitments to our families. Yes, we love each other. Yes, she is my world, and I’ll love only her. But just like I have to, she has to protect her family. I’m sure there is something more to this, and while I wish she had told me, I know I can’t be upset. I have to respect the process of our families.
Being the eldest, we have no choice.
We don’t get to be greedy.
Wow, I don’t even believe I’m trying to convince myself.
How could she?

My name is Toni Aleo and I’m a total dork.
I am a wife, mother of two and a bulldog, and also a hopeless romantic.
I am the biggest Shea Weber fan ever, and can be found during hockey season with my nose pressed against the Bridgestone Arena’s glass, watching my Nashville Predators play!
When my nose isn’t pressed against the glass, I enjoy going to my husband and son’s hockey games, my daughter’s dance competition, hanging with my best friends, taking pictures, scrapbooking, and reading the latest romance novel.
I have a slight Disney and Harry Potter obsession, I love things that sparkle, I love the color pink, I might have been a Disney Princess in a past life… probably Belle.
… and did I mention I love hockey?

#Newrelease #Alphalove #Nerdygirlmeetsmatch #Authorswelove #Lovethisseries

Discover Love was a book that I wanted to get stuck into from the First Chapter. When you read a Maryann Jordan book you wait to see where she is taking you this time. What will you learn or see differently from today onwards. Not many Authors have this ability but she most definitely is one of them that can change perspectives when you read her Books.

So as we know this is Luke’s story. Now this book had worried me because I’m so not into nerdy guys but at the same I really wanted to see how Maryann would make me Fall in love with Luke. He intrigued me and I really wanted him to see there is more to the world than sitting behind Computer screen.

Well I should never doubt again because Freaken loved and adored him. He was sweet and alpha that when it came to Charlie he knew what he wanted and never shyed away from her.

Charlie is the Girl that we have come to know off from the help she lent to Luke in previous books. She is the Tech Junki that helped him anonymously.

That’s until she got into some trouble and needed his help. Charlie and her friend came across some info not ment for them to find. That ended up causing nasty things to happen and really bad ppl were after her….

The theme in this book is not something unknown we know it happens but when you read about it, it becomes so real. ESP when involves kids. Street kids. David and Penny my heart really broke for them. They nearly fell prey to people no not people but monsters that wanted to take advantage of their unfortunate circumstances.

We all know that neither the Saints or Charlie would ever allow bad things to happen to innocent ppl let alone Kids. I enjoyed watching Charlie Flurrish with all these Gentle Giants and let’s not forget what amazing Alpha’s they are. It was also so sweet watching all the guys and their wives welcome Charlie…

I enjoy Maryann’s books because we get it all angst, Love story, Sex that would steam up any Kindle and Plenty Suspence. Grab this book and Enjoy the Journey….
Happy Reading Ladies!!!!

This book is so hard to describe. It is so emotional, and starts off with violence and heartbreak, but it really is a heartwarming story line. Riddick and Cora are torn away from each other with violence and bloodshed and both are left to believe the other is dead…until 12 years later when fate lands them side by side.

“I’ve stood staring at the endless water many times wondering why me or why her, blaming myself and thinking the same thing he is. Always asking when the key that opens the chains around your heart will turn and unlock, allowing those rusty chains to clatter to the ground, to allow all the pain to go away. It never f’ing does, because we’re so lost in our own head that we fail to realize the lock is f’ing broken.”

When Cora and Riddick rediscover each other they will have to learn if their love has remained strong enough to survive the many secrets they must reveal and hurdles they have to overcome.

I loved this story. Riddick is such a great character, he is so strong and alpha without having to be bossy and mean. Plus he is so amazingly sensitive and loving without coming off as a pushover. He is a wonderful role model for Ethan. Cora is an amazing heroine. Strong when she needs to be without losing her vulnerabilities. I really look forward to reading more about some of the other characters from this book and can’t wait to learn more about Vivian’s story!!!

She told me Heaven would knock on my door one day.
That I would be swept away from the hell I lived in.
She was right about one thing and so wrong about the other.
Heaven came in the form of an angel just like she said.
An angel.
And then.
My life became hell.
She disappeared. Vanished.
I left. Went to war. Killed. All for her.
Every face was the man who took her.
Every dream filled with her.
For twelve years I existed in hell. Breathed in the fires from down below.
Until her, the woman on the beach outside of my home.
It couldn’t be my Cora, my angel, my heaven on earth.
She was dead.
Wasn’t she?

Jesse’s threats should make me want to shut my mouth; they don’t. I’ll make all the noise in the world to find out why I feel like I’m being dragged to my death. Oh God, please tell me they do not know!
Without warning, Cutter grips me by my hair, yanking me out of my spot in the corner. My backside is landing on the rough gravel with a solid thud. The sharp stones are penetrating through the flesh on my back. I scream out in agony as this man bores his fingers into my cheeks, digging into my skin enough to draw blood with his fingernails penetrating through my flesh. They’re going to kill me.
“You’re finally getting a chance to get out of here. If you fuck this up, I’ll kill him. Do you get me?” What? I ignore his comment about leaving here. That rolling in my stomach starts to turn, spinning out of control until it crashes into my chest, making it hard for me to breathe. I know exactly whom he’s referring to, and the thought makes me want him to stick his dick in my mouth so I can bite the repulsive little thing off. He’s talking about Riddick. Cutter nods my head for me using his greased, stained hands, his fingernails so dirty I gag at the sight. Those hands that make me cringe every time they touch me leave my face and go right back to my hair, where he pulls me behind him across the lot while I stifle my cries of pain. Not from the gravel clawing and embedding into my skin. From the words he spits out like it’s an everyday occurrence to threaten me with the only thing that can plunder my soul. This is the first time he’s physically hurt me, which makes me realize that whatever I’m here for is the worst kind of bad.
My life is not my own anymore. It belongs to my brother, and I’m a nut job because of it. I live inside my own head, talk to myself, pretend like I’m carrying on a conversation with the one person I want with me all the time. Riddick. I stare at walls for hours upon hours of the day and night, daydreaming of a better life on the ocean, where I can roam freely. Feel the wind swaying in with the tide, my hair blowing back away from my face as I breathe in the salty air. These conscious fantasies are a young woman’s fairy tale we all wish to come true. Riddick knows how much living on the ocean means to me. He is going to kill them for thinking they can put their slimy hands on me. This will be the end to the street fighting gang war my brother seems to think he’s the king of. People stay clear of Jesse Barrick for a reason. He’s maniacal crazy. Certifiably teetering on the edge of insanity. And whatever his reasons are for mistreating me have crazed him out to the point where I’m tumbling over the edge first.
